Day 16-Field Trips

When you are a young homeschool family, it can be hard to get dinner on the table and do school, let alone do special activities for school. We try to do one “field trip” per month or so… just to give us a goal. 🙂 This year our idea list looks something like this:

August-Zoo
September– Go to Krispy Kreme doughnut shop to watch them make doughnuts
October-Homeschool group meeting with a local musician who teaches about the science of music
November-Homeschool group meeting with a historian re-enacting the life of Corrie Ten Boom
December– COSI (children’s science center and museum)
January-Go to a local museum or art exhibit
February-Visit a nursing home
March-Visit the Fire department
April-Trip to visit family and see Washingon, D.C.
May-Go hiking on a nature trail

Look into local homeschooling groups, Google field trip ideas in your area, and above all, have fun and get out and about with your children! What are some fun field trip ideas you have used or would like to do in the future?
